Obedient to the Great Commission…

Our denominational motto is “True to the Scriptures, the Reformed Faith and obedient to the Great Commission”. Though we are a small denomination with about 300,000 members, the PCA is a major factor in world missions with over 600 missionaries on the field in every continent.

We are equally aggressive in planting churches at home. The PCA leads the way in planting new churches in North America. Holy Trinity PCA is a new church in south Tampa. They assisted Christ the King PCA to have a healthy start.

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
– Acts 2:46-47

Our model for evangelism is taken from Acts 2:40-47, where we find the church growing in response to the preaching of the Gospel, prayer, fellowship and the communion of the saints. It is interesting to note that the success of the early church depended more upon recognition of the power of the Gospel to change lives than it did upon programs designed to reach out. Relationships are the God-ordained means for effective witness. They are also essential to a healthy church family.

To that end, Christ the King PCA seeks to create a community where God’s people, having been set free from legalism, self-righteousness and bondage to sin and self, are encouraged to live out the implications of the Gospel in the natural arena of one’s own sphere of influence. We are Christ’s ambassadors at work, school, in our neighborhoods, at recreational activities, through ministries of service and compassion–virtually everywhere.
